Ylang Ylang
Rich, creamy and a little exotic, used in perfumery for body and warmth.
What Ylang Ylang actually smells like
Ylang Ylang is steam-distilled from the flower of Cananga odorata, and perfumers have long relied on it to add body and warmth to a composition — rich and creamy, with an exotic quality that few other florals share.
That richness makes it an evening note through and through, too much presence for daytime but exactly right once a space has settled into wind-down mode.

A note on safety
For external aromatherapy use only — never taken internally. Use with care during pregnancy, ideally in a diffuser rather than on skin, and avoid entirely during the first trimester unless a qualified practitioner advises otherwise. Suitable for diffuser and inhalation use for adults and children 12 and over; for younger children, consult a healthcare professional first. Use with caution around pets, and never apply topically to an animal. Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children and pets.
