Marjoram
Warm and slightly camphorous, softer than oregano.
What Marjoram actually smells like
Marjoram is steam-distilled from the leaf and flower of Origanum majorana — a close botanical relative of oregano, but consistently gentler, with a warm, slightly camphorous quality instead of oregano's sharper pungency.
That softer, more settled character is why it's suited to evenings, working better as a wind-down note than oregano's kitchen-forward intensity.

A note on safety
For external aromatherapy use only — never taken internally. Use with care during pregnancy, ideally in a diffuser rather than on skin, and avoid entirely during the first trimester unless a qualified practitioner advises otherwise. Suitable for diffuser and inhalation use for adults and children 12 and over; for younger children, consult a healthcare professional first. Use with caution around pets, and never apply topically to an animal. Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children and pets.
