The character

What Gingergrass actually smells like

Gingergrass comes from a different plant family entirely to true ginger — it's steam-distilled from Cymbopogon martinii var. sofia, a grass related to lemongrass and palmarosa. That grassy backbone gives it a sharper, greener edge than Ginger Root, even though the two share a similar gingery character.

As a top note with real lift, it suits kitchens well — bright enough to cut through cooking smells rather than compete with them.

A note on safety

For external aromatherapy use only — never taken internally. Use with care during pregnancy, ideally in a diffuser rather than on skin, and avoid entirely during the first trimester unless a qualified practitioner advises otherwise. Suitable for diffuser and inhalation use for adults and children 12 and over; for younger children, consult a healthcare professional first. Use with caution around pets, and never apply topically to an animal. Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children and pets.
